The role will support the Enterprise Risk team and the wider Risk Department to deliver robust risk reporting, improved data quality and continual improvement, allowing the appropriate challenge and decision-making to take place. The role will be responsible for preparing senior management reports and presentations for different bank committees.
£40,000 - £45,000 + 15% Non-Con Pension + Bonus + Benefits
Central London – 3-day week in office - hybrid model
The growing London operation of an international banking group with global assets of $50 billion comprises private banking, commercial and wholesale banking together with retail activities. They have a truly international and collegiate culture. Due to continued expansion and growth, a new role has been created within their Enterprise risk team to deliver strong risk reporting, improved data quality and continual improvements to support decision making. In the role, you will be responsible for preparing senior management reports and presentations to different committees within the bank.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Either a graduate in relevant subjects or someone with a minimum experience of up to 2 years in a similar role (or an internship) AND
* Knowledge and experience of universal banking products AND
* Experience in banking or financial institutions on management information and reports under a Risk perspective AND
* Strong academics - University degree (minimum UK 2:1 or equivalent - Masters level qualifications preferred) in a quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, accounting, economics, computer science, engineering, etc.); AND
* Strong analytical skills, able to rationalise data from many sources and create meaningful insights which may be incorporated into the management of the local risk framework AND
* Skills in data, analytics, databases and data visualisation AND
* General knowledge of risk in banking AND
* Strong communication skills and enthusiasm AND
* Commitment to pursue a career within risk AND
* Strong analytical skills AND
* SQL and BI is essential
* MS Office suite, including strong Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge and experience in programming languages (e.g. Python and/or R) is highly desirable.
THE ROLE
As the Enterprise Risk reporting co-ordinator, you will be accountable for generating regular and time-critical analytics, data visualisations, and risk assessments to aid risk managers, executive leadership, and regulatory bodies, working closely with risk specialists. This encompasses risks associated with Credit, Market, Operational, or other Risk portfolios. The role includes the following:
* Reporting may encompass various domains including, but not limited to, portfolio concentrations and specific exceptions.
* Conducting stress tests, evaluating loss reserves, or assessing high-risk exposures.
* Providing daily support to the Credit Administration team on diverse tasks.
* Consolidating all data pertaining to financial risk (credit, market, prudential) and climate change, while ensuring data integrity, thoroughness, and uniformity.
* Disseminating expertise in specific risk management areas, including risk metrics, governance frameworks, as well as associated data and technological infrastructure.
* Utilising risk and technical proficiency to enhance the informational value of content, providing actionable insights for leadership.
* Spearheading process enhancement initiatives to improve the efficiency of report generation procedures.
* Developing new reports in Excel, creating dashboards, and other tools as needed.
* Conceptualising and implementing process automation opportunities in conjunction with the broader risk function.
* Collaborating with the technology team to support the enhancement of risk data infrastructure, ensuring system improvements align with management and risk reporting requirements.
* Assisting in the execution of various bank-wide projects.
* Facilitating the risk data requirements gathering process from a technical perspective working with the chief data officer.
