* This is a full-time, permanent role.
* A new role – part of wider investment/resourcing linked to the delivery of the new corporate strategy and plan.
* Starting salary: £36,000 per annum + benefits, including generous pension contributions (8% employer contributions when the employee contributes 3%), a starting holiday entitlement of 25 days per year plus public holidays, access to healthcare plans and discount schemes, learning and development opportunities, and flexible remote working arrangements. Compressed hours option is available (4 day week OR 9 day fortnight)

The role
Join a small, collaborative team where you’ll play a key role in shaping and strengthening CRL’s AML supervision programme. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with the Money Laundering Regulations (MLR) and the OPBAS Sourcebook.
If you have a solid understanding of risk analysis within a regulatory setting, and are keen to step into an AML role, this is a fantastic opportunity. This role will be ideal for someone who thrives in a work setting which provides a good level of autonomy. Key responsibilities
* Ensure CRL complies with AML regulations and OPBAS expectations, including drafting sectoral risk assessment and AML Supervision Report.
* Liaising, preparing and, if requested, presenting reports to committee and/or the Board.
* Carry out initial AML risk assessments for firms and individuals applying for authorisation, using risk frameworks and risk ratings.
* Supervise and monitor AML compliance, including by entities, including receiving and processing annual AML Statement and annual returns, undertaking visits as appropriate.
* Produce reports of AML reviews and liaise with entities to ensure recommendations from AML reviews are met.
* Continue to develop and refine AML supervision policies, training materials, and other documents for review by the Director of Regulation.
* Support the Entity Authorisation and Supervision Officer in the broader supervision of firms and individuals.
* Publicise and promote AML compliance to CILEx regulated individuals, entities, CILEx members, CRL employees, stakeholders and the public.
* Gather and record intelligence on risk in legal practice, specifically economic crime and AML, and impact on regulation and disseminate intelligence to stakeholders.
* Engage with OPBAS and other AML Supervisors including attending meetings and reporting back to the wider entity team.
* Proactively contact self-employed members to promote regulatory compliance, identifying individuals requiring AML supervision.
* Comply with the principles of GDPR and IGR.
About You
Essential:
* Degree or equivalent qualification.
* Knowledge of legal practices and business models.
* Proven experience in risk analysis within a regulatory environment.
* Knowledge of entity regulation and assessment.
* Experience in legal research or intelligence gathering.
* IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.
