We are very excited to be seeking a specialist Deputy Accountable/ Cancer Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. This post provides an opportunity to split your role between technical services (3 days) and clinical pharmacy (2 days). The role will enable the post holder to develop their technical, management and leadership skills within the Aseptic, Section 10 unit. You will be involved in the delivery of aseptically prepared products including SACT, PN and Clinical trials. You will manage the Aseptic Unit in the absence of the Accountable Pharmacist providing supervision and managing the wider Pharmaceutical Quality Systems (PQS) to ensure that products are prepared in accordance with the principles of good manufacturing practice (GMP). Previous experience in technical services is desirable. The cancer pharmacist team in NHS Forth Valley are an integral part of non-medical prescribing clinics five days per week across a variety of tumour types. The successful candidate will aid in the delivery and development of the clinical pharmacy service to inpatient haematology and to oncology/haematology outpatients. This role has an opportunity to contribute to pharmacist-led clinics and support service developments both locally and as part of the West of Scotland Cancer Network. Specialist knowledge of this patient group is desirable but comprehensive training will be provided. Forth Valley Royal Hospital Pharmacy Department is a state of the art purpose built facility. Participation in on-call, weekend and late night rotas is expected of this post holder.
