The College is seeking to appoint an ambitious, inspirational and dynamic Director of Music to lead a vibrant and forward-looking Music Department that takes having fun seriously. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically directing, developing, and delivering the music curriculum and co-curricular music programme across all age groups. This role requires a passionate educator with a proven track record of excellence in teaching and leadership.
Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities aimed at fostering a love of music and nurturing the talents of students from Pre Prep age through to Sixth Form. You will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and thriving Music department where every student can find their place and shine. Your leadership will inspire a culture of participation and musical excellence and ensure that each student is inspired to explore their musical talents.
You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of teaching and learning by developing your team and implementing a comprehensive music curriculum that inspires students of all ages. Your responsibilities include:
1. Overseeing musical performances, concerts, and events.
2. Coordinating a variety of musical activities and managing a wide range of ensembles.
3. Supporting and managing visiting music teachers.
4. Collaborating with other departments and external music organisations.
5. Handling departmental budgets, trips, and professional development for music staff.
6. Maintaining parent relationships and retaining confidence in the Music department.
