What is the Role?
In this pivotal position, you will report to the Land & Planning Manager and engage with consultants, local planning authorities, stakeholders, and local communities. Your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Leading planning and development appraisals and preparing and submitting planning applications for residential sites.
2. Conducting comprehensive site assessments and analyses of planning histories, ensuring timely submissions that protect the interests of the company.
3. Managing various types of planning applications, including Outline, Full, and Reserved Matters, to ensure the timely delivery of homes.
4. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external layout designers and planning authority officers.
5. Preparing Planning Statements and a range of supporting documents to ensure applications are accurate and submitted on time.
6. Organizing supporting information and representing the company at stakeholder and public consultation events with professionalism.
7. Developing planning strategies for medium and long-term development sites under the guidance of the Planning Manager.
8. Monitoring development plan progress and related evidence-based documents within local planning authority areas.
What Experience, Qualifications, and Skills Are They Looking For?
1. Previous experience in development management or planning policy within the private or public sector.
2. A degree or Master's in Planning, ideally with MRTPI accreditation and a thorough understanding of town planning.
3. Strong ability to adapt to change and work efficiently under pressure.
4. Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
5. A full UK driving licence.
