Job Title: Housing Disrepair Fee Earner HOURS: Full Time Location: Manchester City Centre Salary: £32,000 - £45,000 DOE MY CLIENT An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Disrepair Fee Earner to join a reputable and dynamic law firm in the heart of Manchester. You will manage your own caseload of housing disrepair claims, working with tenants to secure justice for poor living conditions caused by landlord neglect. The firm offers a supportive working environment with the chance to progress and make a tangible impact within a thriving team. This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated and skilled fee earner with strong technical knowledge of housing law and litigation. JOB ROLE Managing a caseload housing disrepair cases from cradle to grave. Between 80-100 files. Handling clients matters and requests and keeping clients updated from initial enquiry to completion of their matter. Liaise with and instruct experts and counsel where necessary Dealing with disrepair surveyors, associations, and housing providers such as City Councils Assist in the business development and growth of the department You will possess excellent client service skills refined from experience within a similar environment. Having an empathetic nature and displaying a duty of care towards clients, especially those who may be deemed vulnerable and distressed. Excellent time management, prompt, and clear communication internally and externally. Skills and Experience Required 1 years experience handling litigated caseload Able to work with autonomy and efficiency Proven experience in handling housing disrepair claims, including pre-litigation and litigation work. Strong understanding of housing law and the ability to apply it effectively in complex cases. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues. Experience in managing a high caseload and achieving fee-earning targets. Ideally, you will have experience using a case management system and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. A proactive and results-driven attitude with the ability to handle challenging cases.
