Role Overview: Position: Lead Project Engineer Department: Operations Reports to: Operations Director Location: Wakefield Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week) Salary: £Market leading Bonus: Company profit-sharing and recognition schemes Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Coordination: Lead a small project team (up to 3 people), offering guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. Project Management: Administer projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Initiate projects, assess feasibility, develop budgets, define timelines, and identify stakeholders. Create and manage project plans, including resources, milestones, and budgets. Client Interaction: Build relationships with clients, understand their specifications, and communicate project progress regularly. Risk Management: Identify risks and escalate them as needed to ensure timely delivery. Collaboration & Monitoring: Work with internal functions and track project progress using monitoring and control activities. Ensure quality and accuracy of documentation. Evaluation & Reporting: Regularly report to management and clients, and evaluate project successes and challenges to improve future projects. Required Skills and Qualifications: Organizational & Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to organize resources, manage time, and maintain good relationships internally and externally. Budgeting & Control: Experience in managing budgets and ensuring projects stay within financial constraints. Technical Knowledge: An engineering background (e.g., HND/ HNC, or degree in Mechanical Engineering) is advantageous, as well as the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications. Software Skills: Experience with Microsoft Project is essential. Standards Knowledge: Knowledge of ASME/EN12952 PED Code is a plus.
