Job Summary:
As a Senior Java Engineer at Dizplai, you will work closely with a creative team of developers to continuously enhance and evolve our products and services. In this role, your responsibilities will include building and architecting a Java-based platform, collaborating with fellow developers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. You will take ownership of new feature development and proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead development on platform engineering for our Java-based backend
2. Maintain and expand our infrastructure-as-code
3. Contribute to frontend development and architecture decisions
4. Collaborate with developers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure project success
5. Take ownership of new feature development
6. Stay updated with emerging technologies and programming trends
7. Proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they become critical incidents
As a strong advocate of DevOps principles, you'll be directly engaged with addressing the daily operational needs of customers who utilise the systems and components delivered by you and your team. This role will also involve participation in the on-call rotation.
Requirements:
1. Applicants must either hold British citizenship or possess indefinite rights to work in the UK
2. Ability to lead development of projects, working with stakeholders and engineers to guide on timelines and deliverables
3. Considerable Java experience including Spring Boot, preferably 5+ years
4. Experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
5. Knowledge and experience of NoSQL databases
6. Strong analytical, programming, and problem-solving skills
7. Understanding or interest in broadcast and streaming technologies
