Axcis are delighted to be working alongside a specialist SEN college in Stroud who are looking for a full time support worker to start in September working the full academic year, 8.30-4pm Monday to Friday. The role is to work as both a 1-1 support worker as well as providing general class support as and when required supporting students with complex needs, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and those who may require personal care. This well renowned college is very supported by the local authority, is at the heart of the village community and has the most incredible set up for the children and young adults who attend, who range from 2 years old to 25 years old, with a hydrotherapy pool, a large sensory garden, music, art and massage therapy alongside physiotherapy, occupational and speech and language therapy too. Due to the needs of the learners and nature of the support required, the ideal candidate is someone who is from a care background but is looking to transition into education and if you are trained or have experience in Makaton, that would be good although that is not a necessity. If you are someone reliable, hardworking, compassionate and resilient, then this role too could be great for you!
