Job Description:
The firm:
This Top 100 firm has strong and tangible roots across the breadth of the South West region, whilst strategizing itself as a city outfit. The result is a focus on technology and investment with high-quality work coming through each of their practice areas which is very much sector focused.
They differentiate themselves from their competitors by their culture which is underpinned by flexibility, inclusivity, and collaboration. Last year, they spent several millions of pounds on improving technological tools and platforms to afford their lawyers greater agility and connectivity when working across offices.
A large number of their practices sit within the top tiers of the legal directories and the firm's management board continues to make strategic hires to strengthen their foothold in key sectors including Energy & Infrastructure, Private Equity, Retail & Consumer, Private Wealth, and Islamic Finance.
The role:
Opportunity for a Data Privacy & Technology Managing Associate 8+ years PQE to join a dynamic practice in Bristol. This would suit someone who has experience leading large-scale privacy projects involving data protection compliance audits, complex DPIAs, group data processing arrangements, and advisory work in respect of international data transfers. In addition, those who have also worked on transformational technology projects and complex licensing in the FinTech, CleanTech, and Retail Tech fields would be of great interest.
Working under two ex-US and Silver Circle lawyers, this is a fantastic opportunity for a talented lawyer who is looking to finesse their practice under the leadership of talented Partners who are continuing to push forward a very successful and dynamic offering. Indeed, they have carved out a niche in the use of personal data in innovative marketing and advertising activities, social media, consumer-facing promotions, and loyalty programmes. Therefore, any expertise in these areas would be particularly welcome.
Aside from fee-earning and leading on transactions, they're looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who can deepen existing relationships and diversify new ones. You'll also show leadership qualities and have a say in the strategic direction of the practice whilst supporting juniors with their development.
In return, you can expect the full force of the firm's backing and support with tangible progression routes to partnership for those who want it.
The ideal candidate:
1. Data Privacy & Technology Managing Associate 8+ years PQE with training and experience in a quality practice
2. Diet of work that is challenging and at the cutting-edge of tech innovation
3. Reward based on contribution, progression, and potential, rather than PQE or tenure
What's on offer:
1. Highly competitive salary package and excellent benefits
2. Access to the most impactful and high-profile work available
3. Opportunity to work alongside leading individuals and next-generation partners
Sought after opportunity for a Data Privacy & Technology Managing Associate 8+ years PQE to join a premier team in Bristol.
