Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
2. Assisting with VAT returns and bookkeeping tasks.
3. Managing a portfolio of clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
4. Supporting the preparation of tax computations for clients.
5. Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients and resolving queries.
6. Assisting senior accountants and managers with ad hoc projects as required.
7. Using accountancy software, including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and other cloud-based tools.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
2. AAT qualified or part-qualified, or equivalent experience (study support available for further qualifications).
3. Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
6. A proactive and professional approach to client service.
