Contract Type: Fixed Term (9 months - Maternity Cover)
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, shift pattern including nights and weekends (6-week rotating schedule)
Salary: £31,475.00 per annum
About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Initial Accommodation Support Officer to cover a 9-month maternity leave. You will manage service delivery and compliance within our Initial Accommodation, providing direct support to Service Users (SUs) and ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment. This role requires flexibility, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service User Support:
2. Manage a caseload of Service Users within the Initial Accommodation.
3. Provide signposting to essential services (GP surgeries, shops, support agencies).
4. Maintain regular engagement and report incidents, SU issues, and absenteeism.
5. Conduct and record regular welfare checks.
6. Ensure SU health and safety.
7. Accommodation Management:
8. Maintain property standards and ensure health and safety compliance.
9. Conduct regular inspections and report defects.
10. Manage inventory, repairs, and replacements.
11. Address and signpost safeguarding issues in accordance with company policies.
12. Compliance & Procedures:
13. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and statutory regulations.
14. Participate in service development and continuous improvement activities.
15. Ensure equal opportunities and respect for cultural, religious, and physical needs.
16. Coordinate and liaise with team members and partner stakeholders.
17. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
18. Maintain working relationships with statutory auditors and inspectors.
19. Follow procedures and ensure compliance with KPIs.
20. Mobilisation & Decant Support:
21. Assist with the mobilisation and decanting of Initial Accommodation.
22. Ensure contractors follow relevant processes.
23. Support SU clinics leading up to decant.
24. Oversee the safe and secure decant process.
25. Team Collaboration & Communication:
26. Work closely with the team leader and team members.
27. Attend team and staff meetings.
28. Provide on-the-job training and support.
29. Provide cover for other staff as required.
30. Maintain up-to-date written and verbal communications.
Essential Skills & Experience:
31. Experience in a support or accommodation management role.
32. Strong understanding of safeguarding principles.
33. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
34. Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
35. Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
