Multi-skilled Technician - The Trafalgar St. James
Part of Crimson Hotels, The Trafalgar St. James, Curio Collection by Hilton is a 5 Star hotel with 131 bedrooms including 15 suites, and a number of venues consisting of our unique The Rooftop Bar and Rockwell that pride themselves in the quality of service that they provide.
The Role
The key purpose of the role is to ensure that routine pre planned maintenance is performed in order for the Hotels equipment to be operated with maximum efficiency and to keep us compliant with the building standards and keep customer and guest satisfaction and safety.
You will also - but not be limited to:
* Performs preventive maintenance throughout other areas of the hotel, including both front of house and back of house
* Descale shower heads
* Changing and cleaning FCU filters
* Checks fire extinguishers regularly and operates them as needed
* Operates life safety systems
* Inspects and performs preventive maintenance on the hotel’s life safety systems
* Replaces or repairs damaged bathroom fixtures and executes general plumbing as needed
* Checks the TMV and cleans filters
* Weekly generator test
* Weekly fire door checks
* Weekly fire extinguisher checks
* Assist with weekly fire alarm test
* Weekly emergency light test
* Rooms ppm such as checking power supplies, TVs, fixtures and fittings
* Records utility meter readings and monitors daily usage
* Works closely with other team members
* Contributes to the hotel’s preparedness in case of fire emergency, by participating in the hotel fire Procedures
The Person
You will be open to learning and training in new areas that might not include your area of expertise, Fire Alarm Systems, Building Management Systems and Synergy, our work task system. Being a team player is a necessity when joining this small but very busy team. The team is hardworking, and hands-on and works together in order to get the job done. Effective communication, both written and verbal, is essential to ensure the team and wider business is aware of works logged and completed, as well as liaising with our internal customers and guests. You will be professional in both manner and appearance. No job is too big or too small, you are a team player who turns ideas into a reality, and as a keen problem solver, you will be able to provide quick solutions in emergency situations. Previous experience with basic craft skills in a building service or hotel environment is desirable. Flexibility is required as shifts might vary as per business requirements.
