Job summary The Cambridge Genomics Laboratory (Lead laboratory for the East GLH) is pleased to be recruiting a Technical Programme Manager to lead and operationally manage the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) section of Technical Laboratory. Extensive hands on experience of genomic sequencing, library preparation and quality control is essential. Use of automation equipment, and operational management of a busy diagnostic service is highly desirable. You will be reporting to the Head of Technical Programme and working together with the other Technical Managers and Team Leads to ensure the processes and assays within the wet lab are running smoothly as well as ensuring our UKAS accreditation is maintained. You will be managing a team of Senior Genetic Technologists and maintaining specialist skills in Genomic Testing, in order to troubleshoot and improve sequencing workflows in the laboratory. The Laboratory is part of the East NHS Genomic Laboratory Hub. This is one of seven Genomic Hubs established to provide the National Genomic Medicine Service for NHS England, led by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and working with Nottingham University Hospital and University Hospital Leicester. Currently working hours are between the laboratory opening hours of 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday, however these may change to be 8am-8pm Monday - Friday and some Weekend working so flexibility is desirable.
