Solihull Integrated Addiction Service (SIAS) is an innovative partnership made up of 4 organisations coming together to pool their respective expertise to ensure service users receive a high-quality recovery-oriented substance misuse service.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within SIAS. The substance use practitioner will join the substance use element of service provision, focusing on the delivery and development of substance interventions as part of individualised recovery plans.
We require a band 5 skilled Practitioner to provide quality recovery-focused care for our service users, promoting and sustaining freedom from dependency. A proven team player with an interest in substance misuse and a strong sense of partnership, the post holder will deliver interventions for service users with complex problems, instilling hope and ambition as key components of recovery.
Main duties of the job
To facilitate service users to enter and move through integrated recovery-based services, enhancing opportunities for them to achieve identified goals and sustained recovery. The post holder will provide case management to a designated caseload of service users, ensuring comprehensive assessments are completed. Based on assessments, the role will focus on providing recovery-based interventions to enhance service user recovery and experience. The post holder will engage service users in health promotion and provide low-intensity psychosocial interventions as appropriate.
The post holder will work closely with the team leader in developing effective systems and processes for delivering recovery-based integrated services for drugs and alcohol, ensuring effective care pathways to a range of services that enhance individual recovery and reintegration. This will be achieved by forming effective partnerships with identified partners and community organisations, including employment/training providers, housing, and mental health services.

Person specification
Experience
* A good knowledge base of the complexities of working with co-existing mental illness and problematic substance use
* Relevant post-registration experience managing a caseload in a multi-disciplinary team within a health environment
* Experience of working in a prison/forensic setting/criminal justice system
Skills
* Good knowledge of recovery-based models within drug/alcohol use
* Excellent knowledge of drug/alcohol treatment systems that make up an integrated recovery model
Qualifications
* An experienced substance use clinician with substantial experience of delivering interventions for substance use
* Registered RMN/RGN or equivalent professional qualification
* Educated to degree level with equivalent relevant experience in specialist services
