About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Class Leader - QTS to deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students with severe, profound, and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), as well as ASD and other complex needs. Based in the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire area, you will be responsible for overseeing the progress and welfare of your pupils, while also contributing to the development of the school’s curriculum and leading on a designated subject or curriculum area.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead teaching and learning for your assigned pupils, ensuring their progress, welfare, and outcomes are met
* Supervise support staff and contribute to school planning, self-evaluation, and professional development
* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver personalised education and care
* Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets
* Provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
* Liaise with care staff to ensure students' safety and well-being
Key Requirements:
* PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience teaching students with PMLD, SLD, and ASD
* Knowledge and experience with total communication methods (e.g., ECT, Makaton)
* Strong communication and planning skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Ability to engage in physical intervention and personal care routines as required
