The Equipment Library provides an equipment loan service to the Trust, ensuring that equipment is clean and safe to use. The role involves the cleaning & checking of equipment, loaning & retrieving equipment around the hospital site and equipment data entry to allow tracking of loan equipment - training will be given within the department.
The Equipment Library is staffed 08:00 - 17:00 Monday - Friday
Communicate all relevant information within the team to ensure the continual & efficient provision of the Equipment Library service. Communicate and liaise between Equipment Library personnel, users of the Equipment Library service and other healthcare staff in a polite & helpful manner. Attend and actively participate in the EL team meetings.
Main duties of the job
1. Work as part of a cohesive team & liaise with other relevant healthcare staff in a professional manner at all times, e.g., decontamination, infection control, tissue viability portering services.
2. Provision of the Equipment Library loan service - answering telephone calls and dealing with ward queries regarding loan equipment.
3. Visit ward areas loaning and retrieving equipment.
4. Delivering/collecting medical devices from the Princess Royal Site (Clean Driving Licence Required).
5. Work closely with senior staff to build and develop effective relationships with Ward/Department Managers and staff to provide an efficient loan service on site.
6. Notify service users of equipment shortages.
7. Contribute at Monthly EL team meetings.
8. Provide advice and technical support to wards/clinical areas on Equipment Library loan equipment.
