The company operates bespoke, secure, overnight & same day courier services in highly regulated sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a Warehouse Assistant to support our growing warehouse team based at our Head Office, Winsford. As a valuable member in our logistics team, you will generally be responsible for ensuring the smooth and secure transition of goods from our delivery vehicles into storage within the warehouse and back out, to ensure the safe handling of all products at all times. At Topspeed we pride ourselves on consistently providing excellent customer service and ensuring a high-quality service at all times. Please note, this role will include lone working.
Overview of Main Duties:
1. Ensuring that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork
2. Ensuring that deliveries which are being dispatched are loaded to coincide with the delivery and collection plan
3. Ensure all administrative tasks are completed to include checking the goods in, delivery manifests, log sheets in and out, creating the afternoon manifests/log sheets, all keys are signed in/out, ensuring barcode entry on the CRM system
4. Ensure effective communication with the team by providing delivery updates and emails to the team
5. Cleaning and Preparation of Vehicles for Drivers
6. Ensure that all areas of the warehouse, downstairs office and outside yard are kept clean and in a safe working condition, to include safe and orderly parking of vans and any surplus pallets are disposed of
7. To support the day and night Warehouse Manager in completing periodic van checks
8. Ensuring health and safety requirements are adhered to by all staff and visitors in the warehouse at all times
9. Ensure the warehouse housekeeping is maintained, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
10. Undertaking phone queries from drivers and customers as and when required
In order to be successful in this role, we are looking for the below:
1. Previous warehouse experience, particularly within a logistics capacity would be advantageous
2. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, to include positive telephone manner
3. Computer literate, particularly Microsoft Office and Outlook
4. Experience of using databases and CRM systems, although training will be provided
5. Ability to work as part of a team and under your own autonomy
6. Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business
7. It is an essential requirement of the role that employees must hold a DBS certificate.
Hours of work:
Monday - Friday 05.30am - 2.30pm. There may be occasions where you are required to work additional hours to cover staff absence and to meet the needs of the business, which could include weekends or Bank Holidays. Any additional hours worked and required by the business are paid as overtime which includes time and a half for Bank Holiday and weekend work.
Salary:
£26,000 per annum
