Support Worker (Nights)
Beccles and Lowestoft
Pay: £12 per hour (£23,464 per annum [pro rata]) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan.

As our Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex dual diagnosis with severe and enduring mental health needs to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. You’ll make a big difference each day as you help our customers achieve their hopes and aspirations.
Typical day as our Support Worker
* Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations, and outcomes documented in their support plans.
* Encouraging our customers to be part of our customer involvement groups.
* Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy, and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
* Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting, and regular reviews.
* Cuppas, chats, and catch-ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to work together with colleagues too.

You bring
* Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail.
* Experience of caring for others; you may have worked in care before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children.
* The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure, and have a resilient approach.
* Recognise every customer is different and you’re able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs.
* To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage! It’s not a deal breaker if you can’t drive as long as you don’t mind using public transport.

Our team
You’ll join our managers Lisa and Heather, who between them, have been at Home Group for 20 years now. Both managers have risen up into their manager roles – they are true examples of how we grow our own here! Our Waveney team are super passionate about what we do, and we’re known in the organisation for our ‘Elf on a Shelf’ antics in December and are a fun team to work with!
Job details
* We work to a 3-week rolling rota, days, sleep-in nights, weekends, and on-calls.
* Where we’re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.
* Although you’ll work nights, we do get together regularly [in the daytime] for training and team meetings.
* Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, complete online learning, and to collaborate with colleagues.
* You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done, and we pay for that.
