An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Plastic Specialist Dressings Nurse in the outpatient team based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

Main duties of the job
1. To provide Outpatients a plastics dressing clinic focused on patient assessment, management, advice, and monitoring.
2. To actively participate in educational interventions to patients encouraging holistic patient care.
3. To provide specialist nursing contribution and professional advice to the clinical management of patients' wounds, to patients and other health professionals.
4. To liaise with the clinicians both Plastic Surgeons and other specialties who refer patients to the clinic regarding the appropriate management of individual patients.
5. Documentation of all actions and conversations from the clinic, using Evolve.
6. Management of discharges and decisions to follow up using Medway.

Education and Qualifications
1. Degree in related field (or equivalent experience)
2. RN (adult)
3. Completion of appropriate management and leadership programme
Skills & Knowledge
1. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone and face to face in English.
2. Managerial and leadership ability.
3. Knowledge of plastics dressings.
4. Knowledge of health and safety issues and policies.
5. Experience in researching improvements and developments in desired field.
Experience
1. Experience of teaching Trained Nurses, Health Care assistants, and students.
2. Experience in wound care and plastic dressings.
3. Experience of working in an outpatient setting.
