UKG Pro Consultant
Start: ASAP, 2-4 weeks max
Contract Duration: 6-12 months
Work Location: Work from Home (outside IR35)
Eligibility: EU / UK Nationals Only - available for work in European hours (able to go on site, if needed for workshop, go live, etc.)
Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a Certified UKG Pro Consultant with expertise in UKG Pro (formerly UltiPro) and UKG Workforce Management solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong functional and technical knowledge of UKG Pro, including HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Benefits, and Talent Management.
This role requires deep experience in UKG implementation, configuration, integrations, and process optimization, along with the ability to work closely with HR, payroll, and IT teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
UKG Pro Implementation & Configuration:
1. Lead and execute full lifecycle UKG Pro implementations, upgrades, and optimizations.
2. Configure UKG Pro HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time & Attendance, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, and Performance modules.
3. Ensure compliance with local payroll and workforce management regulations (UK, US, Canada, etc.).
4. Design and optimize HR & Payroll workflows, employee self-service (ESS), and manager self-service (MSS) functionalities.
5. Assist with data migration, system validation, and end-to-end testing.
Integration & Technical Expertise:
1. Develop and maintain integrations between UKG Pro and third-party systems (ERP, Finance, ATS, Benefits, Tax, etc.).
2. Expertise in API, Web Services, Dell Boomi, XML, SFTP, and UKG connectors.
3. Troubleshoot integration issues between UKG Pro and external payroll/tax platforms.
4. Support reporting and analytics using UKG BI, Cognos, and custom dashboards.
Business Process Optimization:
1. Work closely with HR, payroll, and IT teams to improve workforce management, payroll processing, and compliance.
2. Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities within the UKG environment.
3. Ensure compliance with data privacy, payroll regulations, and labor laws.
Training & Support:
1. Conduct user training, system documentation, and knowledge transfer for HR/payroll teams.
2. Provide post-go-live support and ongoing system enhancements.
3. Troubleshoot issues related to payroll processing, time tracking, and employee data management.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
UKG Expertise:
1. Certified UKG Pro Consultant (HCM, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Benefits, or Workforce Management)
2. Strong experience in UKG Pro HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Talent solutions
3. Expertise in UKG Pro integrations using API, Dell Boomi, and UKG Connect
4. Experience in HRIS implementations, UKG configuration, and process automation
5. Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax compliance, and workforce regulations
Functional Skills:
1. Strong understanding of HCM, payroll, timekeeping, and benefits administration.
2. Experience with UKG Business Intelligence (BI), Cognos, and custom reporting.
3. Knowledge of SAP, Workday, Oracle HCM, ADP, or other HR/payroll platforms is a plus.
4. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Soft Skills:
1. Excellent communication, client-facing, and stakeholder management skills.
2. Ability to lead workshops, train users, and manage change.
3. Strong analytical, documentation, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certified UKG Pro Consultant (HCM, Payroll, Workforce Management, Time & Attendance)
2. HRIS/HCM implementation experience with UKG Pro, SAP, Workday, Oracle HCM, or ADP
3. Payroll compliance knowledge (US, UK, Canada, EU labor laws)
4. Experience in cloud-based HR & payroll systems and data migration projects
5. Knowledge of AI-driven HR analytics and automation
