About us
Our purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Since the 19th century, our crews have been risking their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning.
The RNLI is looking for a talented and passionate Marketing Manager to work in the Water Safety Team. This team is at the front-end of RNLI Operations working with our Lifeboat and Lifeguard teams developing and delivering evidence-led lifesaving interventions and campaigns. This is an important time for the RNLI’s Water Safety team. Our ambition is to empower and influence others to help saves lives at sea, being a catalyst for change in the Drowning Prevention community and beyond. Our principles are to prioritise by risk, work with others to positively educate all so that we can reach everyone with our key safety messages.
This role is pivotal in delivering our Water Safety marketing programme which supports key RNLI national strategic partnerships, activity led by our Regional Teams, and sector groups like the National Water Safety Forum. You will also be responsible for the RNLI’s Float To Live campaign, and other lifesaving campaigns & resources, with a focus on ensuring our work reflects current marketing best practise, developing our inclusive approach to help diversify and increase the reach of RNLI water safety messages.

Your role
As a Marketing Manager – Water Safety, you will focus on:
9. Project managing and overseeing the planning, implementation and future development of Water Safety’s Marketing Plan
10. Developing and delivering incentive marketing campaigns to our high-risk audiences
11. Supporting our key partners, sector networks, and Regional Water Safety teams through our triage process, ensuring all activity is aligned to our plan and enhances our reach and adds maximum Lifesaving Effect
12. Line managing and supporting two Marketing Executives within the team, delegating where appropriate and facilitating upskilling as and when required
13. Working alongside other Marketing Managers in our Fundraising team to ensure Water Safety activity contributes to our wider supporter journeys
14. Preparing and providing campaign reports and presentations and ensuring these have accurate, up to date and relevant information
About you
As an experienced marketeer, you’ll be comfortable developing and delivering a suite of marketing solutions to meet key objectives whilst working collaboratively with your peers. To be considered for this role you’ll need to have:
15. Excellent project management skills including exceptional stakeholder management capabilities
16. Familiarity with understanding and interpreting data
17. The ability to prioritise and juggle multiple projects
18. Personal resilience and ability to persevere
19. Strong communication skills and attention to detail
20. Experience in thinking strategically about future marketing solutions is desired
21. Behaviour change and public safety marketing experience desired
22. Methodical and logical approach to mapping & interrogating new/existing processes
