We have recently been retained to recruit for a Head of Catering & Events for an independently owned, family focused leisure venue located on the outskirts of York.
The venue is open from 10am to approximately 5pm, between 4 and 7 days a week (depending on the season), for 11 months of the year, and enjoys a particularly busy trade during the peak summer months and in the run up to Christmas, where it holds bespoke seasonal events. The venue has multiple catering, retail and event led outlets across the site, and there is tremendous scope for future development.
Our client is therefore looking to appoint an experienced Head of Catering & Events, to be responsible for all aspects of catering & events operations at the venue, including all health & Safety and financial reporting.
This is very much a 'hands-on', face of the business role, reporting directly to the owners, and the successful candidate for the role of Head of Catering & Events will also be responsible for the recruitment, training and day to day management of approximately 25 full-time staff, and up to 50 seasonal / casual staff during peak months of the year.
Potential candidates for the role of Head of Catering & Events must be able to demonstrate a stable and progressive background to their current role of Head of Catering & Events, gained in multi-faceted, multi-outlet, leisure focused operations. Due to the nature of the business, this role will also involve working most weekends.
