Role: Roster Team Manager Location: Crewe/Ferrybridge Who are we looking for? Two vacancies have arisen for Roster Team Manager with one role being based at our Crewe depot, and the other at our Ferrybridge depot. The successful candidate will lead in the delivery of rosters for UK rail activities through providing the resources to meet the train plan within legal and agreed terms and conditions. Within this role the successful candidate will be manage the rostering team at their location. The successful candidate will actively identify and implement efficiency improvements in collaboration with safety, operations and engineering teams. You don’t necessarily need rail experience, but you do need to demonstrate how your transferrable skills meet the following: Demonstrable experience in resource and change management Demonstrable experience in a people management role Proven track record in managing teams Excellent communication and strong organisational skills Ability to engage and grow teams Strong problem-solving skills and ability to ensure effective, systematic decision making Be analytical, innovative and constantly striving for improvement whilst driving efficiencies What your key responsibilities will be: Work collaboratively with members of the UK rail business to optimise operational plans, performance and strategic position Managing the roster department, ensuring consistent delivery of rosters in line with the relevant terms and conditions. Pivotal role in the formulation of depot base rosters and propose alterations to meet business needs Drive a culture of excellence and accountability through efficiencies and performance improvement, creating best practise Support the strategic planning of traincrew resources, working with operations teams to ensure business needs are met Ongoing focus on continuous improvement ensuring that rosters meet agreed industry and internal fatigue standards Financial focus through hours optimisation and ensuring that efficiencies reduce expenditure Identify and implement training, mentoring and competency assessment program to ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures Undertake regular audits are completed and action plans implemented to identify improvement areas and reduce risk Communicate effectively and efficiently, ensuring that stakeholders are kept up to date and relevant information is disseminated Our perks and benefits Our people are our most important asset.
