About the role: Casual Modern Foreign Language Tutor Activate Learning is currently looking for confident and motived individuals to teach Modern Foreign Language part-time Learning For Leisure courses to our adult provisions at Reading College, Bracknell & Wokingham College and Woodley Hill House, for the following subjects at beginner level and above: Spanish French Italian Greek Turkish Portuguese You will be teaching a diverse group of adult learners from all backgrounds that ultimately share a similar passion for learning or enhancing their skill set within MFL in a friendly and informal environment. We offer both daytime and evening courses at Woodley Hill House, and evening only courses at Reading College and Bracknell & Wokingham College, so flexibility is on offer around those times. What do you need to be successful as a Modern Foreign Language Tutor at Activate Learning? The post holder will need to have the ability to recognise and accommodate individual’s level of learning in-order to differentiate lessons accordingly. Whilst a teaching qualification is not required for this role, previous experience would be an advantage. You will encourage all students to be actively engaged in their own learning and ensure that the classroom atmosphere is positive at all times. In addition, you will have the responsibility of ensuring the following requirements are met: Developing programmes of learning activities Planning, preparing and researching lessons Preparing teaching materials Contact/teaching time with students on an individual or group basis Attending staff meetings as necessary Confident in teaching remotely, strong IT skills are essential You will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners You will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
