This Payroll Administrator will report to the Payroll Supervisor and will work within Reward and HR Services based in our Crawley office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £30,000 and a bonus of 7.5%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote.

Job Purpose:
To ensure that UK Power Networks payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate manner, whilst complying with our policies and all statutory requirements.
Dimensions:
* Internal - local HR, audit, finance, legal, managers and employees
* External - HMRC, governmental and non-governmental organisations
* Decision making responsibility within the framework of UK Power Networks payroll procedures and payroll best practice
* Develop payroll policies and procedures to ensure best practices are maintained
Principal Accountabilities:
* Maintain employee payroll database implementing authorised payroll related changes
* Work as part of a team processing payroll records and support the Payroll Supervisor to ensure that all payroll activities, including transactional processes, compliance activity and reporting processes are completed
* Process new payroll employee's start details after the hiring process has taken place within HR Services and complete the payroll record
* Process the staff and pensioner payrolls which produce the payroll, costing and BACS files following the payroll timetable
* Process statutory deductions including PAYE, National Insurance and Court Orders
* Review payroll error log, exceptions and audit reports to guarantee a compliant and accurate payroll
* Process company car and other associated payrolled benefits data
* Reconcile monthly journals, third party payments, process Real Time Information submissions, issue P45s
* Answer enquiries via telephone and email correspondence
* E-filing incoming / outgoing and end of year transactions to be run following statutory timescales
* Prioritise your daily workload, so that the most business and employee critical activities are addressed
* Contribute to the development of payroll systems and procedures
* Train to an appropriate calibre to meet the needs of the role
* Deliver and advise on payroll issues and communicating with employees, other team members and managers to ensure that service expectations are met
* Contribute to service development and process improvement and participate in projects where required
* Seek to protect us from fraud and reckless overpayment
* Manage payroll information in a manner which protects employee's data inline with Data Protection best practices
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience operating SAP payroll procedures and best practice including, but not limited to, PAYE, GAYE, SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP, director's payments and expatriate payments, manual calculations of gross and net pay, pension schemes, NI, court orders, student loans, CSA orders and occupational sick and maternity pay
* Knowledge of payroll and company procedures and agreements
* Studying towards CIPP or other payroll qualification or equivalent experience
* Ability to use MS Excel with VLOOKUP, MS Word and Adobe to intermediate level
* Knowledge of SAP system including HR and payroll (advantageous)
* Experience working as part of a successful team
* Ability to communicate complex payroll matters - both verbally and in writing with employees, team members and managers to ensure that service expectations are met
