Job Description
As a Payroll Technician, you’ll be part of our dynamic Payroll Team, working alongside an established Finance Department in a collaborative, supportive environment. If you thrive on managing payrolls with precision, developing and improving systems, working independently and enjoy tackling new challenges in a lively workplace, this role could be your perfect fit.
The key responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:
Payroll Processing: Handle diverse payrolls on a weekly and monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Data Reporting: Generate and maintain payroll-related reports, providing critical insights to relevant business stakeholders.
Pension Management: Manage workplace pensions, from calculations to communications, making sure everything runs smoothly.
Payment Management: Oversee BACS processes, ensuring all payments are on time and accurate.
Statutory Calculations: Calculate statutory payments such as SSP and SMP, keeping us fully compliant.
Customer Care: Address payroll-related queries with professionalism and care.
Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with Finance, Compliance, and other departments to keep processes streamlined.
Additional Tasks: Contribute to other payroll projects as needed.
Process Management: Ability to review and improve processes.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally bring:
Must have:
· Strong interpersonal skills with clear, effective communication abilities.
Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with complex data.
Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Experience managing different types of payrolls—salaried, timesheet-based, weekly, and monthly.
· Knowledge of various payroll systems.
· Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage workload effectively.
· Experience of working in a recruitment / employment business or other professional service.

Salary of £28,000-£32,000 DOE per annum.
