Senior EHS Advisor
The Role
We are partnered with an exciting manufacturing company who seek a specialist support function to their manufacturing process. This role supports the continuous improvement of process and engineering resolutions to complex, multi-disciplined challenges.
Job Purpose:
The EHS Advisor will play a pivotal role in supporting a culture of health, safety, and environmental excellence within the organization. They will work collaboratively with operational teams to implement effective practices, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in EHS standards across the company.
Responsibilities:
* Partner closely with operational teams to embed EHS practices into day-to-day activities, ensuring safety and environmental considerations are integral to all business operations.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, standards, and internal policies by conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
* Lead thorough investigations into incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative measures to minimize future risks.
* Develop and deliver EHS training programs, fostering a strong culture of safety and environmental stewardship through proactive employee engagement.
* Identify and drive initiatives to enhance EHS performance, leveraging data analysis to uncover trends and implement innovative solutions.
* Act as a key advisor to management and employees, building trust and influencing behaviors to prioritize EHS excellence across all levels of the organization.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in an EHS Advisor/Coordinator role, preferably within a heavy manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment.
* Nebosh or equivalent EHS qualification (Essential).
* Strong knowledge of relevant EHS legislation, standards, and best practices.
* Demonstrated ability to partner with operational teams to drive practical, business-aligned EHS solutions.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
* Proficiency in EHS management systems and reporting tools.
