Job Title: Smart Metering Field Manager\nWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30\nRoles & Responsibilities:\nField Activity Control and Auditing:\n * Ensure the safety of the team through consistent application of company Health & Safety practices.\n * Conduct regular audits and checks to maintain high safety standards.\nTeam Management:\n * Effectively manage and lead direct reports, covering all aspects of performance management.\n * Handle Human Resource matters including recruitment, induction, training, appraisals, sickness monitoring, timekeeping, disciplinary issues, and performance issues.\n * Conduct regular performance reviews across the team.\nHealth & Safety Compliance:\n * Install and maintain a compliant Health & Safety culture, ensuring all objectives are met.\n * Ensure all installations are accurate and compliant with industry regulations and standards.\n * Ensure engineers have the correct equipment and PPE, conducting regular checks and facilitating repairs or replacements as necessary.\nKPI Management:\n * Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met across the team of engineers.\n * Lead and motivate team members, ensuring awareness of commercial aspects.\nCustomer Focus and Service Delivery:\n * Optimise service delivery and champion a customer-focused approach.\n * Conduct root cause analysis of customer complaints, vehicle damage, on-site incidents, and quality standards.\n * Implement best practices to achieve or exceed company targets for Health & Safety and service delivery.\nData Analysis and Decision Making:\n * Analyse data to improve decision-making processes and implement changes to enhance performance and commercial outcomes.\n * Site Visits and Compliance Checks:\n * Spend 4 days per week completing site visits, performing face-to-face van checks to ensure compliance with company procedures.\n * Monitor daily van checks and carry spare assets and consumables to issue to engineers during site visits.\nAdministrative Duties:\n * Carry out return-to-work forms and undertake probation reviews.\n * Complete engineer inductions and update sickness records.\n * Attend interviews with potential candidates and demobilize any leavers at the Aylesbury Office.\n * Issue technical support and abort codes.\nQualifications and Skills:\n * Proven experience in managing field teams, preferably in the smart metering or utilities industry.\n * Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and practices.\n * Excellent leadership and team management skills.\n * Ability to analyze data and implement changes for performance improvement.\n * Strong communication and interpersonal skills.\n * Proficiency in handling administrative tasks related to Human Resources and performance management.\nLocation: Aylesbury Office, with regular field visits as required.\nThis job role outlines the essential duties and responsibilities expected from a Smart Metering Field Manager, ensuring the smooth operation and safety compliance of the field team while optimizing service delivery and maintaining a customer-focused approach.\nDue to the volume of applications, we receive unfortunately, we are not able to respond to every application personally, therefore, if you have not heard back from us within 5 working days, please assume your application has been unsuccessful.
