This is a new post designed to strengthen the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) Community Paediatric department. You will join the existing team of Community Paediatricians at BHT to deliver community paediatric services to the children and families covered by the ICB in Buckinghamshire and will spend approximately one day a week working on your negotiated special interest aligned to supporting the team’s strategic objectives. If you do not have a particular special interest, this time will be filled through the provision of general paediatric clinics. The service has undergone transformation and now has a comprehensive multi-professional team offering a supportive working environment.
The role will offer the range of community paediatric inputs including general clinics, neurodevelopmental MDT, and Children Looked After clinics. There may be additional variety to the role through support to special schools and through any special interest the candidate may offer.

This role will join the existing team to deliver community paediatric services to the children and families in Buckinghamshire. The Community Paediatricians in North of the county are currently based in the offices at Rayners Hedge, Croft Road in Aylesbury. The Community Paediatricians in the South are based in the offices at Wycombe Hospital and at Haleacre Unit in Amersham.
The Community Paediatric team includes GPs with an interest in community paediatrics, a team of psychologists, and a community pharmacy team. In addition, we have nursing input from the school nursing team to undertake measurements in school for children on medication. A strong administration team offers excellent support.
