This is a site-based role working exclusively at our Gowerton Road site.
What will you do?
The cabinet assembly quality control inspector is responsible for ensuring that all kitchen cabinets produced meet the highest quality standards. This involves inspecting completed cabinets for defects, verifying compliance with design specifications, and identifying any issues that require corrective action.
Some accountabilities of the role:
1. Verify the quality of incoming materials and check for drilling and dimensional conformance against approved technical specifications before they are used in production.
2. Thoroughly examine completed cabinets for defects such as scratches, dents, and misaligned panels against agreed specifications. Ensure that cabinets adhere to design specifications, including dimensions, materials, and finish quality.
3. Document any defects or non-conformities found during inspections, including their location, severity, and potential causes.
4. Report defects to line manager and production supervisors and recommend appropriate corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
5. Keep accurate inspection records, including defect reports, inspection checklists, and quality data.
6. Work closely with production teams and quality assurance to identify and resolve quality issues.
7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements to improve product quality.
What you’ll need to have/be:
1. Awareness of quality control standards.
2. Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
3. Good written and verbal communication.
4. Computer literacy - the ability to use spreadsheets and write reports.
5. Good decision-making skills.
