We’re looking for an enthusiastic Bar Supervisor & Experience Host to join our dynamic team and support our Bar Manager, helping to elevate the customer experience and lead tours and tastings with confidence.
Role Overview:
As a Bar Supervisor & Experience Host, you’ll step up in the absence of the Bar Manager and be responsible for the smooth running of our bar and experiences. You’ll be the face of our venue, preparing and serving drinks, delivering excellent customer service, and leading guests through our signature rum tasting experiences. You’ll also be hands-on with stock management, bar ordering, and maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and presentation that our guests expect. Whether you're behind the bar or hosting an experience, you’ll be a key part of creating a welcoming atmosphere for all.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Step up as Bar Supervisor: Take charge in the absence of the Bar Manager, overseeing the bar’s operations and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
2. Prepare and Serve Drinks: Craft a range of bespoke cocktails, signature serves, and high-quality coffees to order.
3. Lead Tastings and Experiences: Lead tutored tastings and other experiences, sharing your knowledge and passion for our products and brand.
4. Customer Service Excellence: Provide top-notch service to all customers, ensuring a friendly, welcoming, and professional atmosphere at all times.
5. Product Knowledge: Learn about our full range of rums to provide detailed tastings and personalised recommendations to customers.
6. Stock Management: Assist in stock takes and ordering to ensure the bar is always well-stocked and organised.
7. Retail Support: Jump in on the retail tasting bar as needed to assist with product recommendations and bottle sales.
8. Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the bar, store, and other areas are kept clean, organised, and presentable to a high standard.
9. Training: Receive training on our products, bar operations, and customer service to ensure you’re equipped for success.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is ideal, but a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are just as important.
2. Past Supervisory Experience: Preference given to candidates with experience in a supervisory role, though not essential.
3. Coffee/Barista Skills: Barista experience or coffee knowledge is a plus, as we serve high-quality coffee alongside our cocktails.
4. Passionate and Knowledgeable: An interest in spirits, cocktails and customer engagement, with a willingness to learn about our products.
5. Team Player: You’ll need to work closely with the Bar Manager and team, and be able to jump between tasks with ease, whether behind the bar or in the retail space.
6. Reliable Transport: Must be able to reliably travel to Salcombe for shifts.
7. Flexible Hours: Able to work evenings and weekends as required.
