The successful candidate would take part in the daytime acute stroke service including assessment of suspected stroke patients in the Emergency Department, acute TIA and stroke follow up clinics and participate in running the day-to-day activities on the stroke ward. Training can be given for all aspects of stroke management. There will be ample opportunity to gain experience in other fields of stroke management including radiology, stroke audit and research etc. You will be given a named Clinical Supervisor who will meet with you during the post and oversee your training. Academic activities within the department include regular a Monday radiology meeting and a Tuesday Academic afternoon and monthly patient safety/audit meetings as well as participation in multi-centre research trials. To provide, in collaboration with clinical colleagues, a comprehensive Stroke service to patients in the Coventry and Warwickshire Areas. This will include ensuring that all appropriate waiting lists and waiting times are adhered to; that services are provided in an effective and efficient manner and that the principles of risk management and clinical governance are maintained at all times.
