Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a full-time Learning Assistant to join a special school in Haringey. The role will be working Monday - Wednesday long-term, starting in January 2025.
The School:
A successful co-educational maintained secondary special school based in Haringey in North London. The school provides 175 places for students, mainly from across the borough who experience a wide range of learning challenges, from the highest functioning to the most complex, including general, moderate, complex, severe, and profound multiple learning difficulties. Approximately two-thirds of students here have a diagnosis of autism.
Responsibilities:
1. Teaching KS3-4 students with a diagnosis of Autism
2. Planning and delivering lessons whilst assessing progress
3. Working with the support staff to put in place and run interventions
4. Supporting behaviour by following the children's plans
5. Updating and setting targets for children
6. Working alongside the SENCO and other professionals in the support network
Minimum Requirements:
1. QTS
2. Experience of teaching music
3. Knowledge of, or previous experience working within complex needs or SEND
4. An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks
5. CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
6. Legal right to work in the UK
