Would you like to join a charity supporting 16 - 24-year-olds gain skills to help them in the workplace? You will be working for a national charity that delivers supported internships for young people with autism or a learning disability. The programme provides classroom-based learning (employability and functional skills) combined with a work experience placement, supporting the young person throughout the process.
You will have a varied role. Typically, you will spend one day a week for an admin day, one day classroom-based working as a teaching assistant, and then three days visiting young people in the workplace. You will work with them to help them understand their role, liaise with employers for feedback, and discuss any workplace adjustments. Additionally, you will support young people in the practicalities of getting to and from work. Learners and employers are typically in the Ealing area.
You must have experience working with young people, ideally with SEND, and have autism/learning disability experience. This role would suit a teaching assistant looking for a change, a youth worker, or an employment advisor/job coach.
