Description:
The post holder will work within our inpatient physiotherapy teams as a Band 5 Physiotherapist, assisting patient flow through the acute Trust.
1. Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your work, including the management of patients in your care.
2. Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients, including those with medical and respiratory pathologies, orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, pediatric patients, amputees, head injuries, and stroke patients.
3. Formulate and deliver a physiotherapy treatment program based on evidence-based practice and treatment options, using clinical assessment, reasoning skills, and knowledge of treatment techniques.
4. Assess patient understanding of treatment, obtain valid consent, and work within a legal framework for patients who lack the capacity to consent to treatment.
5. Evaluate patient progress, reassess, and alter treatment programs as needed.
6. Represent the Physiotherapy service and individual patients at multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure a coordinated multi-disciplinary service and integrate physiotherapy treatment into the overall treatment program. This includes discussing patient care, progress, and discharge planning.
Skills:
7. Experience working in ICT or community-based physiotherapy teams.
8. Experience treating acute respiratory patients.
9. Ability to create personalized and effective rehabilitation plans.
10. Involvement in audit, research, and understanding of quality issues.
11. Ability to present information, both written and orally, in a clear and logical manner.
12. Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills.
13. Ability to work effectively as a team member.
14. Effective communication, education, motivation, and negotiation skills with staff, patients, and carers.
