Working as part of the Operations Management team, the primary role of the Assembly Manager is to lead the Assembly teams including the assembly fitters, painters and stores teams. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Assembly Manager is responsible for implementing our Vision, Tactical and Strategic Objectives. The Assembly Manager will help drive the team to excel in its delivery, quality, and profitability targets by ensuring that all jobs are manufactured to the appropriate quality standards, customer build specifications, and that the end-to-end manufacturing process is efficient, cost-effective, and on time.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Implementing the Vision, Tactical and Strategic Objectives for all Assembly areas in line with corporate vision and strategies.
* Providing leadership across the Assembly teams to ensure they meet and exceed our operational KPIs, goals, and objectives including reliability, operability, quality, customer care, OTD, and cost-effectiveness.
* Delivering both OE and AM Revenue Targets.
* Providing and achieving our forecast – right first time, on time to our customers.
* Establishing departmental/individual goals and objectives in alignment with site goals and priorities.
* Motivating, retaining, and developing key employees through building sustainable employee engagement.
* Develop a robust succession plan for all levels in the site assembly team.
* Creating and maintaining a positive high-performing team environment.
* Customer & Supplier Management regarding quality and performance issues.
* Providing a customer-focused approach throughout the Company.
* Overarching responsibility for all People Management activities including recruitment and performance management.
* Leading and fostering a workforce and environment which complies with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment policies.
* Effectively managing resource requirements ensuring any capacity constraints are actioned in a timely manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Proven track record of working as an Assembly or Operations Manager.
* An experienced People Leader with proven leadership of large teams.
* Demonstrated experience of succession planning and growing internal talent.
* Financially astute with the ability to interpret and analyze site financial statements.
* Strong leadership background with exceptional communication skills.
* Firm interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across all levels.
* Capacity to manage change and identify practical solutions.
* Critical thinking and intellectual capabilities to analyze business problems.
* Initiative and drive to achieve results.
* Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
* Strong awareness and experience in implementation of visual management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Proven track record of working as an Assembly/Operations Supervisor/Manager.
* Qualified with a degree in Engineering or Business Management, or equivalent experience.
YOU MUST HAVE VALID RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK AND BE ABLE TO OBTAIN SECURITY CLEARANCE TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE.
