The practice nurse must provide and maintain a high standard in general practice nursing which includes the diagnosis, monitoring and development of individual management plans, and agreeing these as appropriate with the patient and other health professionals. They will provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients, while adhering to practice protocols, policies, and guidelines. The post-holder must provide and maintain the highest possible standards of nursing care for patients as well as provide nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the team. They will do this independently and with nurse and GP colleagues. They will also lead on cervical screening as well as immunisations. Main duties of the job Maintain current registration with the NMC register and uphold the NMCs Code of Professional Conduct and their guidance at all times. To continue professional development to maintain the highest level of competency required for your role through annual updates and any training as required.
