Job summary The States of Guernsey are looking for a Occupational Therapist to join the team at Adult Disability. The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the Adult Community Learning Disability and Autism Team. They will manage a defined caseload, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. Providing an efficient, effective and co-ordinated Occupational Therapy Service to the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The Occupational Therapist will maintain clinical records and participate in service development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy within Adult Community Services Directorate as appropriate. Main duties of the job To maintain professional standards and behaviour as specified by the Professional Standards for Occupational Therapy Practice (2007) and in accordance with local policies and legislation. To adhere to and apply the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for Occupational Therapists. To work autonomously, managing a defined client group. To carry out and record comprehensive assessment and treatment intervention as per legal and professional guidelines and standards and in accordance with local policy. To formulate and deliver specific Occupational Therapy treatment programmes using evidence based practice and skilled clinical reasoning. To work collaboratively with the service user, their carers and the MDT to set agreed realistic goals, actions and outcomes. To actively participate in supervision and appraisal, using reflection and analysis to inform practice and identify training needs as required by the Health Care Professions Council.
