Job Requirements
JD Role Title: PLM Enterprise / Solution Architect
The Project
Our customer is a multi-national defence organisation currently in the process of digitalising and transforming the engineering processes across their product life cycle. The transformation shall extend into Digital Twin, therefore needing all the enabling technologies and processes commencing from requirements through to retirement.
The project is envisaged as the transformer – evaluating current processes, developing digital processes and tools to enable the transformation. Apart from the development the project would support deploying the processes into projects.
Role Overview:
As a PLM Solution Architect, you will play a crucial role in defining solution design specifications and Proof of Concepts to integrate the PLM capability into the wider Enterprise Engineering capabilities. You will work closely with Enterprise Architects to ensure cohesive integration and alignment with business needs. This role requires a deep understanding of Aerospace Engineering, PLM, and Enterprise Architecting concepts such as BPMN, ArchiMate, and TOGAF.
You will be responsible for translating complex technical requirements into practical, understandable solutions for team members and stakeholders. This includes working with the engineering business to understand their needs and translating these into technical specifications that can be implemented within the PLM framework.
Ideally, you should be certified in TOGAF and have a strong system engineering background. While IT infrastructure exposure is important, it is not as critical as having a robust understanding of engineering principles and PLM concepts.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
* Experience in a PLM Solution Architect role or similar, ideally Teamcenter UA and Active Workspace
* Strong and proven experience in implementing Application Data Integration and Migration solutions
* Proficiency in using Enterprise Architecture modelling frameworks such as TOGAF, and modelling notations like ArchiMate and BPMN, mainly to define business process and application architecture models (including data models)
* Strong systems engineering foundation and understanding
* Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and documentation, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, understandable language
* Leadership: Ability to develop and lead conversations in both formal and informal customer settings to drive thoughts and solutions around PLM and integration with Enterprise Architecture
Desired Skills:
* Qualifications: A Bachelor ’s or Master ’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred
* Recent TOGAF Certification (10) and ArchiMate Certification(3.2)
* Familiar with the Bizzdesign tool suite (Enterprise Studio, Horizzon)
* Project Management: strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
* Experience with agile methodologies in the context of digital transformation projects
* Experience in coding small applications (Java, C#, Python, Matlab, GitHub)
