Key Responsibilities Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments. Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly. Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, for management review. Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations. Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required. Ensure compliance with financial and legal regulations specific to the social services sector. Qualifications and Skills Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Familiarity with UK financial regulations and tax codes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive and problem-solving mindset. Experience in the social services or non-profit sector is a plus. AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable.
