Input/Output Operator
Salary/Hourly Rate: £31,235 - £39,044 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours: Average 37.5 hours per week, 6am to 6pm

As an Input/Output Operator at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the tipping hall, transfer station, weighbridge, ash management, and consumable deliveries at the Allington EFW plant. You will work as part of a team to manage the day-to-day intake of vehicles, operate heavy plant machinery (such as front loaders and overhead cranes), and inspect waste. You will also be responsible for traffic management within the tipping hall, ensuring compliance with FCC's safe systems of work.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working an average of 37.5 hours per week on a continental shift pattern, as designated by the management team.

What will you be doing?
1. Ensuring all activities within the Allington tipping hall area are carried out safely and in compliance with FCC safety policies and statutory requirements.
2. Managing vehicle movements within the tipping hall area to maintain safety and efficiency.
3. Operating overhead cranes, front loaders, telehandlers, and forklift trucks.
4. Conducting random inspections of vehicle waste to ensure compliance with IPPC permits and reporting any non-compliance.
5. Maintaining high housekeeping standards within the site.
6. Contributing to the team effort, fostering teamwork, and providing assistance to colleagues.
7. Minimizing environmental impacts, including odour, dust, noise, and vehicle pollutants, by carrying out environmental monitoring checks.
8. Reporting any accidents, near-misses, dangerous occurrences, or hazardous conditions.
9. Ensuring all equipment and machinery defects are reported and managed appropriately.
