Job Title: Senior Category Buyer

Purpose of Role: We are hiring for a Senior Category Buyer to join our Procurement team, responsible for the procurement of direct materials for WME across our global network. This is a challenging opportunity in a fast-paced environment for a professional to develop their career.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify, create & lead development opportunities within category strategies.
2. Monitor and analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement within category strategies.
3. Lead cross-functional teams in VA/VE activities to allow development of supply base.
4. Review, manage & negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
5. Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply.
6. Lead supplier audit activities to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory bodies.
7. Identify underperforming vendors.
8. Create & manage supplier improvement plans for underperforming vendors.
9. Engage with the Quality team and support on NCR closure at the supply base.
10. Understand the NCR process and be able to take part and lead 8D problem-solving techniques within the supply base.
11. Resolve invoice queries with suppliers in a timely manner and put fixes in place to ensure no repeat issues.
12. Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
1. Degree or professional certification – preferable.
2. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
3. Proficient in procurement software & ERP (SAP) systems.
4. Familiar with manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong organisational and time management skills.
7. Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
