The opportunity:
We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join a brand new team that we are building due to our recent success securing multiple contracts within our Aerospace & Simulation business unit.
As a Lead Engineer, you will be leading the development of critical training systems for the British Army. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership to the engineering team, managing sub-contractor delivery & integration, and conducting design reviews.
This is an opportunity to enter a dynamic and challenging world of developing simulators and gaming systems for military and civilian use, to play a significant role in the development of cutting-edge technology, and to lead in a challenging environment where a variety of training and simulation systems are developed.
What will you be doing:
As a Lead Engineer you will be:
* Leading the engineering team to deliver a simulator project.
* Planning and leading engineering tasks requiring judgement in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of system design to meet the agreed requirements.
* Leading project meetings and delivering progress reports.
* Leading engineering workshops for all relevant stakeholders.
* Continually attaining satisfactory compliance with Quality, Safety, Security, and HSE requirements.
Skills for success:
* Technical team leadership experience.
* Experience delivering technical projects.
* Software and/or systems engineering experience.
* Experience in sub-contractor and external stakeholder management.
* Defence/military or safety-critical background.
