ASA are seeking an experienced DevOps Platform Architect to lead and shape container platform architecture for a public sector client. In this role, you'll provide strategic and hands-on guidance to an agile development team, connecting technical development with larger architectural objectives. Main Responsibilities:
1. Platform Leadership: Design, lead, and operate containerised workloads, covering CI/CD, monitoring, metrics, and logging.
2. OpenShift & AWS Expertise: Manage OpenShift 4.x clusters and design patterns for ECS/Fargate within the organisation.
3. Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to governance requirements and clarify roles and responsibilities.
4. Jira Platform Support: Design and support a Jira service offering with integrated change and test pipelines.
5. Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with product teams to address real-world challenges while aligning solutions with enterprise architecture.
Key Objectives:
1. Provide technical leadership to continuously enhance container-centric dev platforms.
2. Promote sustainable, user-centred practices within the team and organisation.
3. Build and maintain agile processes and quality support procedures.
4. Participate actively in product engineering groups to establish and refine best practices.
5. Champion improvements, influence stakeholders, and assist in prioritising technical roadmaps.
Skills & Experience Needed:
1. Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in containerisation, CI/CD for AWS, and Infrastructure as Code principles.
2. Platform Design: Proven experience in designing and building secure, resilient platforms in AWS.
3. Observability & Security: Deep understanding of telemetry, security tooling, and best practices.
4. Stakeholder Engagement: Experience introducing efficient processes and communicating technical benefits.
5. Agile Experience: Hands-on experience in agile delivery models like Scrum or Kanban.
The role will be an initial 12-month contract (outside IR35) and offer a hybrid working pattern with office based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh.
