We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Waste and Recycling Policy and Strategy Manager to play a pivotal role in developing and driving the future strategy of our waste services with a proven track record and significant experience showing ability to manage and implement forward thinking waste strategy policies. Reporting to the Head of Waste Services and Street Scene, you will have responsibility for managing monitoring and developing and implementing planned projects within the waste and recycling team. Supporting a culture of continuous improvement to deliver key work streams as part of Enfield's Climate Action Plan and Reduction and Recycling Plan. As part of your role you will be responsible for keeping up to date with upcoming and future changes in legislation for waste and recycling. Source and secure external funding, including the development of a funding strategy to support Waste and Recycling improvements. You will be responsible for overseeing specific projects and support changes in legislation, while providing operational support delivering strategic changes or projects agreed corporately and any future changes. In conjunction with the Departmental Management Teams you will provide leadership, commitment and management across the Division, Service and Council and with our external partners and agencies. communicating effectively with elected members and other partners/stakeholders. Providing supporting evidence in the form of briefing papers, reports, and presentations. Working with waste management you will lead the development of policy strategy, and objectives to ensure high-quality waste management across our service areas, including waste and recycling collection, disposal, street cleansing, commercial waste, and Recycling Centre operations. As in a major strategic role in managing cross directorate corporate projects which will facilitate both divisional and corporate initiatives. To implement all relevant Divisional and Service initiatives and programmes, strategies, policy, and procedure to improve Service compliance and the effective management of waste and recycling services as necessary across the borough.
