Job Description: Civil Quantity Surveyor
Location: Essex
Salary Range: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
We are seeking dynamic and detail-oriented Civils Quantity Surveyor of all levels (Junior, Intermediate, and Senior) to join our growing team based in Upminster. Key Responsibilities
* Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for civil engineering projects.
* Provide cost analysis and financial advice to project stakeholders.
* Contract Administration:
* Manage contracts from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
* Negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and clients to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Measurement and Valuation:
* Perform detailed measurement and valuation of work completed on-site, ensuring accurate documentation.
* Prepare interim and final payment applications.
* Risk Management:
* Identify potential risks in cost and delivery, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
* Monitor project costs against budgets and address any deviations.
* Stakeholder Communication:
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.
* Provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management.
Requirements
Junior Quantity Surveyor:
* Preferable degree (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management).
* Minimum 1 year experience in similar role and same sector.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Intermediate Quantity Surveyor:
* 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the civil engineering sector.
* Proficiency in contract management software and tools (e.g., NEC, JCT).
* Solid understanding of construction methods and materials.
Senior Quantity Surveyor:
* 5+ years of experience with proven expertise in managing complex projects.
* Chartered status or working towards RICS or CIOB accreditation.
* Exceptional negotiation and leadership skills.
