Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
The Advertising Lead for GSK’s Clinical Pharmacology Unit (Clinical Unit Cambridge, CUC) Unit will be responsible for developing and executing strategic advertising and communication initiatives to support the recruitment and retention of participants for Phase 1 clinical trials and other types of research, as well as increasing CUC’s visibility both within the organisation and externally.
This role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively manage both internal and external engagement, ensuring clear, consistent, and compliant messaging across all channels in adherence to GSK policies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advertising Strategy Development and Implementation:
-Design and implement effective advertising strategies to increase the recruitment of healthy volunteers and patients for Phase 1 clinical trials and other types of research.
-Collaborate with key stakeholders including, but not limited to, clinical operations, regulatory, and legal teams to ensure advertising content complies with ICH-GCP, GDPR, regulatory standards, ethical requirements and other GSK guidelines.
-Develop and execute communication strategies to effectively showcase and inform the work and successes of CUC to broader teams.
* Digital Platform and Advertising Application Management:
-Manage advertising application(s), ensuring optimal functionality and integration with advertising strategies.
-Work closely with relevant teams to oversee advertising platform updates, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements that enhance recruitment and engagement efforts.
-Leverage platforms to create innovative digital advertising campaigns and analyse data to improve participant outreach and retention.
* Oversight of Advertising End to End:
-Oversee the creation and deployment of engaging advertising content that accurately represents the objectives and ethical standards of clinical trials/research and ensure all communication materials are clear, informative, and tailored to target demographics.
-Develop content, where required
-Manage the advertising budget, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
* Data Analysis and Reporting:
-Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, using data metrics and feedback to optimise strategies and outcomes.
-Prepare regular reports for management, detailing campaign performance, recruitment status, and budget utilisation.
* Process Improvement:
-Leading or contributing to workstreams, non-study related projects or written standard updates to support process implementation and improvements.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications & Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field
* Proven experience in advertising, marketing, or communications within a healthcare or clinical trial setting
* Extensive knowledge of marketing and advertising methodologies
* Strong analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply:
* Project management qualification
* Proven experience of consistently successfully advertising for clinical research volunteers in a Phase 1 setting with extensive knowledge of volunteer/patient recruitment challenges
* Experience of leading or contributing to initiatives, able to demonstrate enterprise thinking and understanding of business processes
