Sounds awesome, but what would you be doing in this role?
The Structural Engineer is responsible for the successful planning, design, execution, and completion of projects for our clients. They have a strong commitment to high quality, optimized, and cost-effective delivery of Structural Engineering projects ensuring safety, compliance, and overall client satisfaction. This role provides technical expertise, guidance, training, and mentorship to their team.
The Structural Engineer will act as the Project Manager on single-discipline projects ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget. They will coordinate with Gerrits Project Management Division on multi-disciplinary projects to ensure the projects are moving forward as planned. This role will also write proposals, project abstracts, and technical reports.
The Structural Engineer will uphold the Company Values to ensure we are building strong relationships with our clients and contributing to the continued growth and success of the Company.
What qualifications would you need to be successful in this role?
1. Professional Engineering license with PEO (other provincial registrations considered an asset.)
2. Completion of a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a Structural Engineering focus.
3. 3-5 years relevant working experience as a Structural Engineer in an Engineering Consulting firm.
4. Industrial, Commercial, and Residential building design experience considered an asset.
5. Design experience with HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression.
6. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCAD, and SAFI.
7. Strong understanding and working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, Ontario Building Code, Handbook of Steel Construction, and Concrete Design Handbook.
