Fantastic opportunity to work as part of the In-house maintenance team for an established Data Centre provider. CBW are currently recruiting for a Facilities Engineering / Technical Manager to be based on a critical data centre in Slough. The successful candidate will be electrically qualified with a proven track record in critical environments (Ideally a Data Centre).
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm
Flexible approach to working hours (Out of hours work)
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Manage day to day operation including repair and maintenance, Security, change control process, procurement, accounting & budgeting related issues.
2. Manage subcontractors and provide a 12 month planner of contractor site visits/PPMs.
3. Manage/execute Data Centre’s expansion, modification, maintenance or new customer move-in projects.
4. Preparation of maintenance contract & tender document.
5. Supervise and liaise with external vendors regarding regular communications and ad-hoc work and respond to issues that arise.
6. Manage specifications, problems, issues, performance, and administration.
7. Prepare Management report, PowerPoint presentation, SOP/EOP, Critical activities planning such as Power down & Pull-the-Plug test, Emergency / Disaster Recovery plans / Business Continuity Plans, Data Centre customers’ report.
8. As an incident manager, manage all incidents and prepare incident reports.
9. Engage with internal stakeholders to gain feedback on customers’ inquiries.
10. Intervene, analyse, manage and resolve business conflicts between the company and the vendors/suppliers.
11. Implement procedures of safety system and performance measurement like scorecard to ensure quality and reliability of services meeting client’s requirements.
12. Provide superior customer service to clients through all Facility functions.
13. Routinely inspect all areas to ensure performance measures are being maintained and proactively self-report problems of facilities.
14. Able to track and update the financial budget.
15. Liaise with MEP, IDC, Security and Office Manager and produce datacentre operation report on a weekly basis.
16. Responsible for Data Centre Facility Management operations.
17. Establish engineering and operation procedures and roll out for site staff.
18. Ensure compliance with all local statutory regulations.
19. Manage all vendors to carry out maintenance for all installations during the weekend and review maintenance reports.
20. Provide solutions for technical issues.
21. Participate in Disaster Recovery Plan per the Client’s requirement.
22. Manage and Monitor the Data Centre Infrastructure Management System and all sub-systems including but not limited to BMS, PMS, and SMS. Update technical drawing regularly / Inventory list / Asset list.
23. Audit FM shift handover/performance/work/Procedure monthly and CMI own the right to audit internally.
Requirements
1. City & Guilds Level 2&3 and AM2 or equivalent.
2. City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
3. Proven track record of handling Uptime Certification is a must.
4. HV & LV Authorised Person (Highly desirable / Not essential).
5. Experience in facilities operation in Data Centre, Telecommunications industry.
6. Able to coordinate with utility company and deal with High Voltage.
7. Knowledge of critical facilities including Chiller, CRAC, UPS, STS.
8. Strong leadership, people, and communication skills.
9. Strong PC literacy and proven ability to manage daily activities using various systems including MS Excel and PowerPoint.
